Dr Douglas Smith

Doug has a PhD from Stanford University in Applied Physics and a Masters degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management. As an investment banker, he has worked at Salomon Brothers, Citigroup, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, Credit Suisse and Strata Technology Partners. He has particular knowledge of the telecom, computer, electronics and semiconductor industries.

Prior to a career on Wall Street, he worked at IBM Research in the US, Germany and Switzerland. He conducted research in ultramicroscopy, nanofabrication, liquid crystals, magnetic and optical storage, gravitational wave detection and massively parallel computing. With several granted patents and numerous publications, he is well qualified to advise on deeply technical, intellectual property-rich issues.
